Bueno!
Another week in the bag! Time goes by so fast haha, sometimes it's hard to pick out interesting or exciting things that happen each week.
We've been trying really hard to get to know all the members here, which has been great. The sisters also gave us a ton of names and numbers of people to contact, ones that haven't been progressing much with them. So we've been making lots of calls and sending lots of texts to people! Great Spanish practice!
We woke up at 4 am this morning to go do a Temple Session at 5:30 in the San Diego Temple! Super awesome! We took some awesome pictures outside.
Not a whole lot of exciting things to write home about this week, just steady improvement each day as we continue to try to get things popping!
I'll drop a spiritual thought for this week since the email is pretty short. 2nd Nephi, chapter 24, verses 16-17 say (this is Nephi quoting Isaiah by the way):
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and shall consider thee, and shall say: Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms?
17 And made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof, and opened not the house of his prisoners?
For context, this is talking about what will happen after Christ returns and once Satan is bound. We will see how pathetic Satan really is. We will see him in his sorry and weak state and think, "Man, I really let this guy cause me so much pain and take so much control over my life through tempting me to sin? This dude? Really?"
I'm reminded of the Wizard of Oz. Once they arrive to the Emerald City to meet the wizard, they find out it's not a magical, larger-than-life wizard. It's just a dude with a microphone and a few tricks, bent on deceiving others to gain power. Satan is the same! We know that in the end, the curtain will be pulled back, and he will lose. We know which team will win. The decision comes in choosing if we want to do what it takes to be a part of Christ's team!
Have a great week!
